This workshop is aimed at people new to mindfulness and explains the practise in a simple, straightforward manner, guiding you from scratch through the basics of mindfulness. We introduce the simple concept behind mindfulness and give you everything you need in order to start practising and experiencing the many benefits.

The Mindful Body

We spend so much time living in our heads. Many of us spend all day sat in a chair, working at a computer, stay sat down as we drive home, and then spend our evenings sat watching TV. We spend much of our free time thinking about past events or dreaming of the future and one of the results is that we’ve become very disconnected from our bodies. Even those of us who regularly meditate, often focus very much on the experience in our heads without realising it, even as we’re allowing the feelings of the emotions in our bodies.

This workshop aims to give you the tools to redress this balance, and an understanding of why it is so important & beneficial to have a deeper awareness of your body, so that we learn to listen and to live from the wisdom of our bodies, benefiting us physically, but also emotionally and mentally. For any long term meditators who come along, will also learn how to deepen their meditation through their new found body intelligence.

Who is this workshop for?

Anyone who wants to learn or develop a deeper understanding of their body, but especially for Mindfulness practitioners (however experienced – even complete beginners), anyone who practices yoga, tai chi or chi kung, body-workers, energy workers, dancers or anyone else with a body!

What will I learn?

This course includes both theory and practical exercises that will enable you to develop a new relationship with your body, so you can listen to and understand its needs, and how to engage your body’s natural healing potential.

“Stay rooted within” – Eckhart Tolle

The course includes physical meditations, some still, some moving, some with gentle stretching (no extreme yoga!) that will not only benefit your body on a physical level, but on all levels – emotional, mental and spiritual. You will learn how these different levels are all interconnected, and the importance of developing our body intelligence to grow in all these different ways.

For people new to mindfulness, this will be an invaluable introduction to a new world of less stress and more happiness. For experienced practitioners, the techniques learned here will not only expand your range of practices but also develop your understanding and capacity for deeper meditation. For physical practitioners, eg yoga, massage therapists, you will develop a new awareness of your body that will complement your existing practices, and give you a deeper level of insight and understanding.
