Yoga is fantastic way to improve your health, tone your body and de-stress as well as other providing benefits, which may include sleeping better and increased energy levels.
In the Kashmir style, we work in dynamic flowing way that is in tune with your body. Unlike going to the gym, which depletes the body, we work in a way that nourishes, rejuvenates and gives to your body, while still feeling that you’ve had a gentle workout.
Our aim is not contortionism, or to obtain a so called “perfect posture”, but to get to know and work in harmony with your body as it is, without expectations of your levels of flexibility, balance or strength – you don’t have to be flexible to start doing yoga, and not being flexible is one of many good reasons to start! Rather we explore where your body is at in any given session, simply going to the edge of where your body is comfortable – pushing yourself to try to get further in any given posture is only going to tear muscle and cause damage – not what we are intending! Conversely, when you stop at the comfortable boundary, the body starts to realise it is safe, and can then allow a deeper level of relaxation into your muscles.
Just by concentrating on the instructions, and focussing on the sensations of your body, you are practising meditation, the benefits of which will extend through your life, allowing you to stay calmer and more centred in your daily life, as well as experiencing better focus and concentration.
Classes are mixed ability, which allows beginners to progress faster and longer term practitioners report that it helps take away the competitive edge, allowing them to relax into their bodies, rather than strive for so called perfection.
I have been attending Pete’s yoga classes for about a year now and can testify that they are extremely addictive! Not sure how i coped without them.
I have achieved so much in terms of flexibility and strength but more importantly (to me)the elated and peaceful feelings i am left with after each class are priceless. Everyone needs to do this!

I have mats that you can borrow, although feel free to bring your own. Simply wear loose, comfortable clothing that you can move around in, and a smile.
How much does it cost?
£7.50 per class
£37.50 for 6 (to be taken within 2 months) – a saving of £7.50
£70 for 12 (to be taken within 4 months) – a saving of £20
I really really cannot tell you how great coming back to yoga was! My digestion improved, I slept better, my shoulders weren’t aching and my hips are flexed. Most significantly, I feel like I am calmer and not so anxious or frustrated.
Never again will I leave for 8 weeks without a yoga contingency plan!

I have taken part in a few of Pete’s yoga classes. What struck me and I especially appreciate is the fluidity of the style and how each movement fits in with the breathing. Even though you don’t stay long in any given position, it is a real full stretch and work out. It resets my pace to more mellow and leaves me well relaxed. It is really worth recommending.
